Are you still frustrated with Facebook ads? Still getting lost in the jargon and mechanics? Feel like if you could just get over that hurdle, you could take your business to another level?
I’ve been testing out a lot of the new features of Facebook advertising – and gosh they change, a lot.
You’ve got to be in them all the time to keep up – and this can be pretty frustrating. Because let’s face it, you just haven’t got the time to master Facebook ads these days.
But I don’t have to convince you how powerful they can be. And I’m sure you’re feeling stuck either because you’re tried them and had zero success OR you can’t overcome the hurdle of actually starting.
I hear you.
I spend a lot of time creating complex funnels in the Facebook Power Editor and teaching others how to do this. I know how the tech side can be completely overwhelming if all you want is to get in and start!
Most Facebook Ad gurus tell you you must use the power editor to get the best results.
Well that is no longer true.
Last month I ran a super simple campaign on Facebook spending just $76 dollars and filled an event with 50 people paying $40 each. (This was on a brand new Facebook page with no likes or followers).
The important piece is the structure and I’m going to give you that formula so that you too can get started and experience the magic of Facebook advertising.
How it works
Get your page in order
If you haven’t sorted out the basics, now is the time. Get your logo up and a good background image, write a decent bio and ‘about’ section. Above all, tell people why they should follow you.
Entertain, inspire or teach
Spend two weeks posting exceptional content 3 or 4 times every day. You have to do the work. Watch as your page likes grow and your followers like, comment and share your posts. Include links to your own content in 2 out of every 10 posts. Try:
- Behind the scenes shots
- Case studies
- Shout outs
- Thank anyone who’s supported you
- Introduce yourself/your biz
- Blog posts
- Share others blog posts
- Share industry news
- More blog posts
- Share your other social channels
- Inspirational quotes
- And video, any sort of video does exceptionally well
Find your best posts
Go to Facebook ‘Insights’, find which of those past 50 posts got the most engagement -> sort all posts by the ‘engagement’ column to see the top posts:
Then Boost the top 3 most relevant posts. Make sure these posts have links to your website/blog.
Why it works
- You have a good page and a clear reason for people to follow you
- You’ve run a lot of ‘organic’ posts and you’ve gotten people interested. Now you want to scale or get more traffic to your site.
- You’re learning. You choose 3 different posts to boost giving you a better chance of one of them succeeding.
- Your expectations are in check. You’re happy to start small and figure things out one step at a time.
By the way, this strategy won’t make you an overnight success (seriously?).
But it will get interested, relevant people to your website.
And here’s some ways you could move them closer to a sale:
*This is the complex Facebook power editor stuff .
And from there you can build a more complex funnel to move this new audience closer to becoming customers.
Sound simple? Great, I’d love to hear if this is enough to fire you up?
But if you are still struggling, and think you’re ready to go all in and get a full ad campaign live in the next 30 days – maybe this is right for you
